What Sin Ambages Is, and Is Not

The name is a promise, not a wink. Sin ambages means without beating around the bush: we say what we think and take the consequences. Philosophy begins where the tribe forbids thought, and the title keeps the word "sin" as a reminder that the uncomfortable is also said plainly. Sin Ambages publishes those thoughts, in good faith, with arguments, and with the willingness to be wrong in public.

We are a journal of opinion, not a news agency and not a current-affairs blog. Every essay starts from a real philosophical question and develops it as far as it can go, rigorously and without jargon. We do not publish for a tribe. We publish for someone who still wants to think for themselves.

Editorial standards

Opinion journalism does not excuse rigor. Our rules are few and apply to everything we publish:

• Alleged facts are verified before publication. Verifiable errors are corrected with a public note, not in silence.
• Every essay must be reducible to an argument, and that argument must be attackable. If it cannot survive the attack, it does not run.
• We quote who we actually quote, in context, with a source.
• We do not publish misinformation, defamation, or personal attacks dressed as analysis.
• We do not accept money for coverage. Sponsorships, when they exist, will always be disclosed.
• We reserve the right to change our minds, and to say so.
